Can there ever be too many party balloons?
Balloons have had resurgence lately, graduating from children’s party accessory to full-blown art installation or prop. Companies such as Bubblegum Balloons do a great job in creating balloons for all types of events.
Whether it’s a wedding, a corporate event or anniversary, balloons add that statement piece of magic, lightness and a whole lot of fun. Small balloons need not apply, unless you are hosting a party for a mouse in a windmill. It’s all about scale and statement with these helium balloons. And don’t be scared if they fly away. Lots of these balloons have a weighty chaperone, dragging them back to earth so you won’t risk letting a lot of beautifully charged balloons head on up into thin air…
So how can you incorporate balloons into your event styling? The options are seemingly endless, but here are four ways you can add some pop to your party. Don’t even think about using your own pair of lungs for the dirty work, because these balloons mean business.
Say it with colour
Nothing more dramatic than using balloons to compliment the overall colour theme. Contrasting colours and dynamic tones will ensure the balloons are a real party piece.
Say it in the dark
Add a UV light or glow stick into your (smaller) party balloons and unleash them onto the lawn at nighttime. If you need to get people outside to shift around some furniture after dinner, guests will love an excuse to get outside for some fresh air and walk amongst the bright lights. For all those photo happy guests, this is a totally unique experience that will get their creative minds buzzing.
Say it with props
Not everyone likes to have their photo taken, but often they have no choice (especially if the host is around!). Add some props into the mix to give them something else to focus on. If they happen to cover themselves in all the props like this photo at Elmore Court (@Rob Tarren), well, let’s just hope the trend doesn’t catch on.
Say it in a backdrop
One way to make your event totally unique is to go big on the decorations. Creating beautiful, original backdrops for photos or seating areas can create unique areas within the party space. Balloons are an economic way to create large-scale backdrops. Add some sparkle and glitter and some well positioned up-lights and you’ve created a stage on which your guests get to party on.
Say it with size
Who said size doesn’t matter? The perfect post ‘I do’ photo can be of you and your betrothed with two large bunches of colourful party balloons. Add ribbons, to show how serious you are about each other. If any of you are fans of the Pixar film ‘Up’ you can imagine this is the beginning of your life long adventure together. Going up, up and away!
