Iscoyd Park have had some delicious tasting chocolate made. At this stage, you might have to just take our word for it.
Their Iscoyd Park chocolate journey began when….
Loving wife Susie bought Phil some dark chocolate from a local Farmers’ Market for Valentine’s Day. She-said-he-said, he was “bowled over by the taste”. So they tracked down the producer, Pablo and asked if he could make a special chocolate range for Iscoyd Park.
How special is this chocolate?
The cacao beans are sourced directly from three small villages in the Peruvian rainforest. The crop is collected, fermented and dried by the Ashaninka (specific tribe) families that live there. Buying their Cacao beans helps to safeguard their rainforest from illegal logging, protect their land rights and provides a sustainable income for future generations.
The beans are then shipped to Wales where Pablo processes and refines them before they can be tempered and moulded. The bars are then hand wrapped in recyclable foil and craft paper. This chocolate is only available in specialist shops in the UK and in 2013 was recognised with a Great Taste Award for it’s…great taste!
What about the bespoke chocolate packaging?
The design is based upon some original engravings from 18th Century satirical artist James Gillray, titled Harmony Before Matrimony and Matrimonial Harmonics – engravings that you’ll be able to find hanging at Iscoyd Park.
The Iscoyd Park chocolate now sits alongside the Iscoyd champagne as well as the midnight hamper packs that the team have created for their guests. You can pre-order any one of these things to have available for your arrival at the house.
What with the numerous scented candles giving off wonderful smells around the house, the chocolates and the bubbles and the comfortable beds, staying at Iscoyd will be nothing short of sensory heaven!
