Aside from our houses being blank canvases for your wonderful gatherings, we also hold our own regular, open to everyone events which are fantastic opportunities to head on up the drive and be a guest for the day!
Those wordsmiths at Elmore Court love coming up with things you’ve never heard of to keep you on your toes (a new building made of mud anyone) so calling their next event an Oomska comes as no surprise! Here they share what’s in store at this year’s Oomska!
Wedding fairs, fayres or in our case oomska’s are very much part of all wedding venues and we at Elmore try and do at least one each year… And on Sunday, 25th October we’re hosting an autumnal get together of many of our favourite wedding suppliers so that anyone can come and experience what we do at Elmore Court.
You are almost certainly wandering why we called it an Oomska… Mostly because we like the name but also partly because The Gillyflower is made from mud literally dug out of the adjacent field. Monty in ‘Withnail and I’ said “You mean you’ve been up here in all this beastly mud and oomska without wellingtons?”.. Which doesn’t give due service to what Oomska is.. It’s not beastly. And you won’t need wellies…
The clocks change the night before so make sure you take your lie in… We open at the real midday and run until 4.30pm and it is all totally free.
It’s a great way to see Elmore Court, meet the team here and find some inspiration should you be getting married. But even if you just want to check the place out for a party or meeting (or anything else for that matter) then please do come along; we’ll have food from our kitchens, booze from the bar, music from friends. Needless to say, in true Elmore style it will all be a little bit different to your average wedding fair!
In terms of which suppliers will be present you’ll find magicians, tents, balloons, vintage stuff and lots more alongside some amazing photographers, cake makers, florists, hair and makeup artists etc…
So come along and if you’ve got nippers (it is half term) then they’re very welcome too!
